Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 3rd January 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Kollect ("we", "us", "our"), available at https://www.kollectnow.com (the "Service").

By accessing or using Kollect, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Kollect Does

Kollect provides tools to help people organise group events and collect payments from participants in a simple and transparent way.

We aim to make organising and paying easier, but the planning, delivery, and attendance of each event remain the responsibility of the organiser.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to use Kollect.

By using the Service, you confirm that:

  • you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • the information you provide is accurate and up to date

3. Accounts & Roles

Organisers

Event creators ("Organisers") are responsible for:

  • setting accurate event details, pricing, and deadlines
  • confirming events only when they intend to proceed
  • communicating clearly with participants
  • managing cancellations and refunds where applicable

Participants

Participants are responsible for:

  • reviewing event details before joining
  • understanding when payment will be collected
  • ensuring they are comfortable with the organiser and event

Kollect is here to support the process, but does not take part in the event itself.

4. Participant Awareness

Participants should only join and pay for events organised by people they know or trust. If you are unsure about an organiser or an event, we recommend not proceeding.

Kollect does not independently verify organisers beyond the checks required by our payment provider to process payments.

If something doesn't look right, we encourage you to contact us so we can review or assist where possible.

5. Payments & Fees

Payments are processed securely by third-party payment providers.

Any applicable service or processing fees are shown clearly before payment.

Kollect does not control bank processing times, chargebacks, or provider delays.

If you have questions about a payment, you can contact us and we'll do our best to help or point you in the right direction.

6. Cancellations & Refunds

Quick summary

  • You're only charged once an organiser confirms an event.
  • If an event is cancelled after confirmation, participants get their contribution back — service fees aren't refundable because they cover payment processing.
  • Before confirmation, anyone can leave or cancel and no payment is taken.

Before an event is confirmed

  • No payments are taken.
  • Organisers may cancel freely.
  • Participants may leave the event at any time with no charge.

After an event is confirmed

Payments are collected from participants.

If an organiser cancels the event:

  • Participants are refunded their contribution amount.
  • Service fees are non-refundable, as they cover payment processing costs.

If a participant wishes to cancel:

  • Refunds are only possible if the organiser chooses to issue one.
  • Any refunded payment will exclude the service fee.

If there is uncertainty or a dispute, we encourage organisers and participants to communicate first. You're also welcome to contact us for guidance.

7. Organiser Payouts & Withdrawals

Funds collected for confirmed events are made available to organisers once payment processing is complete.

Organisers can withdraw available funds to their bank account using the payout options provided.

To receive payouts, organisers may be required to:

  • provide accurate personal or business information
  • verify identity and bank details
  • meet requirements set by our payment provider

These checks are required to comply with financial regulations, anti-money laundering (AML), and know-your-customer (KYC) laws.

Kollect does not control verification timelines or delays caused by incomplete or failed verification, but we're happy to help explain what's needed if issues arise.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Kollect to:

  • collect money for illegal or fraudulent purposes
  • mislead or deceive participants
  • bypass fees or payment systems
  • disrupt or abuse the Service

If we believe the Service is being misused, we may suspend or restrict access. Where appropriate, we'll aim to communicate clearly and fairly.
